On the Valentine’s Day menu, attendees can expect delicious options ranging from risotto with grilled asparagus, spinach, roasted carrots, zucchini, and more, to ippoglosso, which is pan-seared halibut, mussels, and an aromatic herb velouté.  Reservations for this ‘farm to table’ foodie destination can be made over the phone or on their website.

CAUCUS CLUB

150 West Congress Street, Detroit

The Caucus Club, the renowned establishment with as much history as its sister restaurant The London Chop House, offers a sophisticated dining experience. It’s an ideal place for those looking to enjoy an intimate dinner in a classic setting, making it a top choice for Valentine’s Day. On the 14th, the Caucus Club is offering a special prix fare menu priced at $135 per person. Throughout the meal, enjoy a live jazz performance and a rose for the ladies. Make your reservations online with a $50 per person deposit that will go toward your bill. Remember that business casual is the minimum dress code for dining at the Caucus Club. EVELYN’S MIDTOWN KITCHEN

For couples that want a hands-on approach to a romantic dinner, Evelyn’s Midtown Kitchen is offering a Valentine’s dinner cooking class. The menu includes pan-seared scallops with a creamy avocado basil sauce, rosemary garlic ribeye with a light shitake cream sauce, truffle mashed potatoes, and chocolate ganache cake and strawberry hearts for dessert. Imperial is a local Ferndale spot that I’m convinced everyone needs to try. Social Media Manager Johanna Medranda tells us, “On February 14th, we’re hosting our ‘Everyone LOVES Tacos’ event.” From 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., guests can enjoy a specialty food and cocktail menu. Some of the specialty tacos you can expect are a braised beef short rib option, a fried avocado choice, and even a fried cheese curd taco. This unique celebration is perfect for those looking to enjoy a more laid-back yet festive Valentine’s Day with a twist.

Greg Cowley shares, “John Cowley and Sons is a second-generation Irish Pub, a local staple since 1972.” This Valentine’s Day, they invite you to experience their rich history and delightful atmosphere. With two floors, each offering a unique setting and live entertainment on the weekend, this pub combines fine food and casual ambiance. Celebrate your evening with a special wine-tasting dinner at 7 p.m., and enjoy the charm of this venue.

OAK & REEL

2921 East Grand Boulevard, Detroit

Celebrate your love at Oak & Reel, where Chef Jared Gadbaw is preparing a 4-course meal for Valentine’s Day. This beautiful Milwaukee Junction restaurant will be offering a mix of Oak & Reel’s staple dishes and special selections for the occasion. The Prix Fixe menu, priced at $115 per person, is a testament to culinary excellence and a perfect choice for a romantic evening.
